Jeep Wrangler Recall, fire risk

Do you own a 2010 Jeep Wrangler? Chrysler has just announced it is recalling nearly 87,000 Jeep Wranglers because of fire dangers. The only affected Jeeps are the Wrangler model build before July 14, 2010 according to federal safety investigators.

Chrysler reported at least 14 known fires in the 2010 Wrangler model.

Debris can get caught between a plate that protects the transmission and catalytic converter and if it happens, then it can catch fire.

Chrysler will replace the plate with a bar that was actually introduced on the 2011 models, to prevent debris from getting caught in the dangerous fire hazard zone.
