Federal safety investigators say that GM reported that oil can leak onto the exhaust system during hard braking and that can lead to a fire. Reportedly 267 fires actually occurred. For now parts are an issue and GM is telling owners they should park their cars --- but not in garages or carports.
Now, folks, that's a warning indeed. Okay, they can catch fire and we don't have enough parts so you should just park it but park it outdoors so you don't burn your house down. Kind of makes you wonder if the defective parts came from the same company that sold Ford all those defective (and flammable) cruise control switches.
