It's a geographically limited "regional" recall, meaning that not all vehicles in all states will get the recall. GM is limiting it to Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming, and the District of Columbia. Apparently federal safety investigators are doing nothing to force a recall in the southern US states. Hopefully you never drive your car in California or north of the Mason Dixon line. We've complained about these regional recall ripoff's before (to read about it, click here).
